Rituals to Recenter and Realign for the Week
Sundays are a great day to press pause, realign and create your path for a productive week ahead. Although this blog is about a Sunday reset, you can choose any day that suits your life best! Some people may work weekends and maybe Monday is your reset day. Regardless, the main takeaway is consistency and allowing yourself some time to prepare for your week ahead in a mindful and gentle way. A Sunday reset routine is a gentle reminder to check in with yourself. Planning and checking in on your goals is a part of this routine, but ensuring you are caring for yourself mentally and spiritually is also big part of the process.
We love a Sunday reset routine as it clears our mind and home of the previous week. And allows us clarity and space to set out to have the best week possible. Have you ever noticed that when you have a clear home and a clear mind, you just feel better? Well that’s what this routine does. We love filling our weekends with fun plans, but when we don’t have time to fit in a reset routine, we definitely feel it going into a new week. It’s not ideal!
Why is a Sunday reset routine so important?
Stress, anxiety or mental clutter can seep into our life despite our best efforts. A Sunday reset gives us a chance to realign, set ourselves up for a productive week, but also take care of our mind and body.
Let’s talk about how to recalibrate for the week ahead with these feel-good Sunday rituals that will set you up for a productive week filled with abundance, purpose and balance.

1. Home Environment
Your surroundings play a huge role in your well being and mindset. Which is why we like to start off with our home environment for this Sunday reset. The goal is to create a space to set the stage for your week to come.
Cleaning
Put on some music and tidy up. This can actually be more therapeutic than you think. Tidying your space helps in clearing your mind. Take some time to clean and declutter your living spaces and your workspace (especially if you work from home). Or organize areas of your home that you’ve been putting off for too long. This is a great way to declutter your mind, as well as check a few items off your never ending to do list.
Set your Atmosphere
Now that the hard work is done, create a cozy vibe going into the rest of your Sunday reset rituals. Light your favourite candle, turn on your diffuser and light your salt lamp. Here is the time to do anything that you normally do that creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

2. Personal care
The next step is to take some time to attend to your personal care. This is a very important part, especially after spending time cleaning the home. Now is the time to reset ourselves physically. Personal care and self care can be in the same category, why not pamper yourself on a Sunday?
Movement
Incorporating some form of movement into your Sunday routine will help you feel rejuvenated. Focus on a low impact form of exercise on a Sunday reset day, save the high intensity for during the week. Your movement could be working on your mobility, light stretching, a brisk walk or an energizing yoga flow.
Skin + Body care
Now that you’ve moved your body, let’s shift focus. Caring for your skin isn’t just about how you look, its a huge part of self care and how we feel inside too! Now is the time to take our everything shower, or as simple as drawing a bubble bath. Today is the day to take the extra step and maybe incorporate a soothing face or eye mask, exfoliating, dry brushing or anything else in your weekly routine that you enjoy. As you nurture your body and skin, wash away any stress and allow yourself to feel refreshed for the week to come.
Nutrition
It’s important to enjoy nourishing food during your Sunday reset. This is also a good time to plan your meals for the week. Whether you need to grab some groceries and snacks for the week, or prep some breakfast for the week let’s get ourselves set up for a healthy week full of yummy meals. Check out our recipe page for lots of inspiration!
Remember to move through these routines with a gentle mindset, find joy in taking care of your personal care. Returning to the basics is a great way to feel refreshed and ready for the week ahead.

3. Mindfulness and Reflection
Taking some time to reflect inward is a great way to check in on our thoughts and feelings. Mediation is great way to check in with yourself. Even if its a quick 5-15 minutes to slow down and breathe, this is a great way to connect deeply with yourself. Even some simple, focused breathing is a positive way to feel grounded and calm.
Journaling is also a wonderful way to reflect and clear your mind, check out our post on journal prompts to help calm your mind. Write your thoughts, celebrate your wins and reflect on any challenges you have been facing. This is not about perfection, it’s all about sitting down, and taking note of where you are in the present moment. We also have a post about

4. Goal Setting + Planning
Now that you have taken time to reflect and take some deep breathes, it’s time to think about your week ahead.
Weekly Planning
Use your Sunday to plan the week. Its time to get an idea of what your week will look like, acknowledge your top priorities and make intentions for your week. Jot down a to do list, mark any personal commitments or appointments into your calendar. Time blocking is a great way to stay productive during your week, but make sure to carve out time for self care and relaxation if your week is super hectic too!
Goal Review
While planning your week, it’s also a great idea to check in with your goals. Are your daily habits in alignment with your long term goals? Checking in with your larger goals is a critical part of achieving those goals. Read more here to learn about how we set intentions and goals.

5. Time In Nature
Nature is known to reset our mind and heal our souls. It’s the time in your Sunday reset to step outside. This could vary depending on the time of year and where you live, but you can take your dog for a nice long walk, check out a local park or ground your feet in the grass. The key to feeling your best in this step is to be present. Notice everything around you, feel the sun on your face and enjoy this time while disconnecting from the digital world that constantly surrounds us.
6. Wind Down
Take some time after completing your Sunday reset rituals to relish in your evening. Enjoy a comforting, healthy dinner, with your favourite show and relax – you deserve it. When nearing bed time, opt for reading or listen to some lo-fi music instead of watching another episode. Your Monday morning self will thank you when you feel rested and ready to take on the day!

Your Sunday reset routine is more than a to do list, it’s a commitment to yourself. It’s about taking time to reflect. By incorporating mindfulness, cleaning, personal care, planning, nature and time to wind down; you are setting yourself up for a week filled with abundance, purpose and balance.
