Hey beauties! Happy Spring. How is everyone doing? Are you excited for the summer months ahead? We sure are. And what a better way to celebrate the start of our favourite season, than to put in a little makeup haul! We both took advantage of the Sephora insider sale and topped up on some of our favourite products, and tried a few new ones as well.
Keep reading to find out what our makeup must haves are. Summer 2024 is right around the corner and we want to be feeling our best, all season long. Our goal in this post was to share the brands we continuously come back to, we are always trying new products, but these products are our tried and true. We love them!
We’re breaking down our makeup must haves, the products we know and love and some fun new ones we can’t wait to try!
Meg’s Makeup Must Haves
When it comes to my favourite companies, Rare Beauty is a GO TO for me. Not only am I a total Selena Gomez fan, but I also just love what the brand stands for. Their messaging is all about loving yourself fully and embracing your beauty, not covering anything up. Rare beauty wants you to shine, and their products definitely foster that!
The products I absolutely love are:
- Rare Beauty Brow Harmon Precision Eyebrow Pencil in Shade, Cool Brown
- Rare Beauty Soft Linch Liquid Blush in shade, Encourage
- Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer Highlight in shade, Mesmerize
I’ve been using the products above for years and I know I love them! They go on so smooth, the colour is fab and the quality really stands out.
In terms of new products I’m trying, I really love the combo of Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush & the Elf Cosmetics Primer Infused Bronzer in shade, Forever Sunkissed.
In terms of lipgloss, I love the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in shade, Glass Slipper- Clear. And I’ve got to give a shoutout to Rhode, I’m obsessed with their Peptide Lip Tint in shade, Toast.
Cornelia’s Makeup Must Haves
When it comes to makeup, I really love mixing up my products, I tend to try new brands all the time. But I do have some favourites that I will always go back to. I typically do most of my makeup shopping at Sephora, but there are a few cheaper gems in the mix. I try to just buy the best options in terms of quality, no matter where they’re from.
- For Mascara, I will always keep coming back to L’Oreal Paris’s Voluminous Lash Paradise. I’ve been using this since I was a teenager and it works so well. It’s also about half the price of mascara at Sephora and works just the same. When it comes to mascara, it’s all about the brush and this one, I love.
- For concealer, I have fallen in love with the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Dark Spots. This is the creamiest concealer I’ve ever tried. I will 100% re-purchase.
- Bronzer, Blush & Highlight, I’ve always loved Tarte. I’m a powder girly, and so I find Tarte makes clean, high quality products.
- When it comes to setting spray, I can not say enough good things about NYX’s dewy setting spray. This stuff works so well and has lasted me so long! And the best part is, it’s affordable, you can buy it at Shopper’s Drug Mart. I’ll be re-buying again.
I just put in my semi-annual sale order and I got a few new products I’m really enjoying already!
- The Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint with SPF 40, Foundation. This stuff is so creamy, has sunscreen built into it and it doesn’t dry up on my skin. It’s a win win! Living somewhere so dry, I rarely find foundations that work on my skin. This skin has given me wonderful results so far.
- If you’re looking for a very versatile eye shadow palette, try the Naked Palette 3 by Urban Decay. I feel like these were all the rage for years and to be honest, they really haven’t gone out of style. They last so long!
