Can you believe we’re already into September?! Thinking back to the initial months of starting this blog, we were in the thick of winter and the thought of warm summer days were still long ahead of us. And suddenly, we’re through the intense heat and heading into another change of season! Admittedly though, we’re pretty excited for this one. Fall is our favourite for cozy vibes, a clean slate for a new routine and of course, fresh food like crisp apples. Hence this month’s recipe, a delicious baked apple crisp recipe!
This is hands down a crowd pleaser, who doesn’t like a warm baked delicious apple dessert?

Baked Apple Crisp
Ingredients
For the apples:
- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored + sliced
- juice from 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
For the crumble:
- 2 cup oats
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- Oil a baking dish and set aside for the time being.
- Peel, core and slice the apples.
- Combine the sliced apples with the rest of the apple ingredients: lemon juice, maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir to combine.
- Place the apple mixture into the baking dish.
- Next prepare the oat crumble. Combine the oats, vanilla, brown sugar, salt and maple syrup into a bowl and stir.
- Spread the oat crumble mixture on top of the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake in the oven for 40-45 minutes or until oats are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve warm as is or top with a vegan ice cream. Enjoy!
