We’re back with another travel blog for ya’ll! As we head into 2025, our goal at Living & Lifestyle is to diversify our content even further. You know and love us for our wellness and productivity content, but we want to sprinkle a bit of adventure in there too. Because everyone loves a good adventure, and we have some stories and tips to share.
This week’s blog is about travel essentials, and what you should never leave the house without, when planning your next trip. We all know it’s important to pack your best pieces on an upcoming trip, we all want to feel cute, right? But there are some items that we think are essential. They may not be glamorous, but they will make your trip a lot more accessible and worry free! So let’s dive right in and unpack what you should be taking on your next trip!
“This week’s blog is about travel essentials, and what you should never leave the house without, when planning your next trip.”

One: Passport Pack
Keeping your most important documents in a safe place is essential whilst travelling. Especially if you’re going internationally. When I travel, I always bring my passport pack. In this handy waist belt, I keep my passport, my foreign currency and any other important travel documents. Knowing that it’s in a safe place, that can either be attached to my waist, or tucked away nicely in my carry-on, is a comforting feeling. It’s all in one spot, which allows me to always keep an eye on things. The worst is when you have your important belongings in various places, and you have to check a bunch of different pockets to find something vital. Keep it simple, keep it streamlined. Check out the link below for a list of great travel items I personally like!

Two: Sunscreen
Ok this one may seem like a no brainer, but depending on where you’re going in the world, you may not think to bring sunscreen! That being said, no matter your destination of choice, or the time of year, sunscreen is an important addition. Say you’re skiing, it may be winter, but those UV rays can still get ya! Or if you’re headed out to a beach vaycay, you’ll definitely want to protect your skin. I try to avoid buying sunscreen in other countries, as you never know what ingredients could be in them. In Canada, a great one you can find on Amazon is Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral Sunscreen. Or if you go to any local health food store, there will be more options for you to browse.

Three: Your Kindle, Kobo or Book of Choice!
Nothing beats a relaxing read on vacation! The best time to sit back and relax with a good book is when you are taking a break from everyday life. Whether you’re travelling through Europe and need a good read on the train, or relaxing on a beach with family. We love a good book. We’re more physical book people, but lots of friends I know love a Kindle or a Kobo! They also allow you to bring many books, without taking up too much space.
Four: Dry Bag
A dry bag can be a game changer on an adventure focused vacation! Whether you’re going out for lots of hikes and want a safe place to keep supplies and snacks, or you’re out paddle boarding on the lake or getting into a canoe with friends, a dry bag can save the day when it comes to your most precious items.
I’ve used a few different ones over the years. From super small, something I can just take my phone and keys in, to something a lot larger that I’d bring to the beach as a day bag. If you’re looking for a really secure option, check out this Earth Pack Waterproof Dry Bag!
Five: Water Bottle / Bottle Filter or Water Tablets
Water is essential on any trip. I personally hate having to buy plastic water bottles when I’m on the road. I understand it’s necessary in some countries, but if it can be avoided, that’s ideal for your own health and the planet’s. In the past I’ve just brought my own water bottle and used tablets to purify the water. You can pick these up at any adventure or camping store. But if you’d like to skip the tablets, check out a water bottle that has a built in filtration system. There are lots of options online, the LifeStraw Go Series is very highly rated!
