We’re all about promoting beauty, inside and out, here at Living and Lifestyle. The feeling of beauty can come in many forms! For us, feeling beautiful is about feeling confident in our own skin. Feeling beautiful starts from feeling healthy and comfortable with who we are. But beauty can also feel good when radiated on the outside. We would be lying if we said we weren’t also invested in external beauty. Who doesn’t love to feel their best, inside and out!?
Crafting a beauty routine that works for you, can take time! We’ve learned many tips and tricks over the years. That’s why we’re here to share them with you.
Here are the best beauty tools you can incorporate into your routine. To feel your best, all year long!
1. Gua Sha
“A gua sha tool is an ancient East Asian healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth tool to improve circulation and promote wellness.” It is good for boosting circulation and sculpting the face, and can reduce inflammation and puffiness in the skin!
If you’d like to learn more about how to properly gua sha and what benefits it entails, check out this blog post!
Gua Sha is best for: Puffiness, contouring, releasing tension and lymphatic drainage.
When using a gua sha tool on yourself, there are a few things to keep in mind. Prepare the skin with oil or serum, then glide down the neck, smooth the forehead, gently massage the eye area, contour the cheeks, and sculpt the jawline. My personal favourite gua sha is from Rocky Mountain Soap Company.

2. Dry Brushing
Dry brushing can come in many forms. Either full body dry brushing or facial dry brushing. Both can help you feel more radiant! Many beauty experts suggest dry brushing before you shower. It’s a great way to get rid of dry skin cells and freshen up your skin! Keep in mind, you’ll want to use a different brush on your face, than you would your body. Your body can take something a bit stronger, whereas you’ll want to be gentle on your skin!
Dry Brushing is best for: Exfoliation of the skin, increasing circulation, and lymphatic drainage. To learn more about dry brushing, take a look at this benefits breakdown in Vogue!

3. LED Face Mask
An LED face mask has become all the rage in the past couple of years. They look pretty funny, but with consistent use, they can yield great results. From doing a bit of research on the LED red light masks, it’s clear that you need to find one of quality, and use it consistently. We found a dermatologists guide to LED face masks, which may be helpful when choosing your next product! Just a tip, some of the best masks can be quite pricey!
A LED Face Mask is best for: Tightening skin, reducing fine lines, and soothing acne.
4. Eyelash Curler
An eyelash curler is a must-have for anyone who loves voluminous lashes! You can use an eye lash curler before applying mascara, for an even bolder look. Or you can simply use it on natural lashes and not apply any makeup for a soft, natural look. An eye lash curler opens up your eyes for a brighter look. It’s a long standing beauty trick that people have been loving for years! And they aren’t too pricey to buy, you can get a great eye lash curler for not much money.
Even if I am not wearing makeup, if I curl my lashes, it brightens up my eyes without even using mascara.
An eye lash curler is best for: Curling natural lashes, adding volume before applying mascara!

5. Your Hands!
We’re not joking with this one!! Your hands can be an essential beauty tool. Have you ever heard of facial yoga? It’s a practise of waking up your face with your hands, massaging and strengthening facial muscles through a set of actions. If you google “face yoga” you can find lots of interesting articles on the practise.
“Face yoga is a gentle form of strength training for your face and neck that typically concentrates on one of the 57 facial muscles (or groups of muscles) at a time. “The more you repeat certain face yoga exercises, the more you may notice that the muscles and skin start to tighten”.
Facial yoga is a great example of a practise that can yield amazing benefits, without any tools! You can see great results, just with your hands. Not having to spend any extra money, just utilizing your own body!
Facial Yoga is best for: Releasing facial tension, reducing the appearance of fine lines and strengthening facial muscles.
